I had the idea to go to a part of town I love for Father's Day...it has fountains in the summer, and Old Chicago right there, and a boutique I adore. And you're right, that does sound like more of a Mother's Day outing. But I was thinking of Wilder the most--wanted something fun for him to do, and Shawn was on board.
Except the fountains weren't on.
So we went to a park that has fountains but it was crowded and littered. Plus Wilder didn't like the fountains and got sunscreen in his eyes.
Poor kid.
These photos are proof again that Shawn deserves Dad of the Year award. That he let me pick the day's activity on his special day says a lot.
I love ya, Dude.

Aw, Riverside Fountains are never a good first fountain experience... they always seem so over-crowded and the big kids aren't watching out for the timid little ones which always makes it a scary experience (for kids and parents alike.) Too bad the Old Town ones weren't on. Maybe next time.
Crazy- we went to Old Town fountains Sunday, too- weren't on. My hubby said they looked as though they hadn't been on yet all year- any knowledge on this front? We headed over to Lincoln Park, and weren't too impressed. Not a very nice neighborhood, and the fountain area could use some clean up! I think Osage Park is next on our list to try- I've heard some good things...
Come visit us in Brisbane. I will take you to some amazing fountains, wider and Story will run and jump and play to their hearts content, while we drink coffees and sigh at the bliss.
opps I meant Wilder.
Heather- We've played in the Old Town Fountains just a couple of weeks ago. I drive past them fairly regularly but haven't this week yet. I suppose they could have turned them off for maintenance, but they're on most of the time when I drive by.
The peace sign, so cute!!
work it girl! (talking to Story)
