...if you won the lottery?
Here are my really, really selfish answers. But I am being honest! And I'd have to win BIG to make all this happen:
Pay off debt
Start a non-profit (something to do with mental health)
Open a home-accessory store (kitchy new and vintage gifts plus books)
Buy a new car (I have had mine 10 years)
Help family if they need anything
Get a gym membershipEstablish recurring gift to the Alzheimer's Association
Donate my clothes and start a new wardrobe
Set up college funds for the kids
Travel (especially to Europe)
Get lipo and a breast lift ;-)
Invest for retirement (can't forget this)
Buy an awesome mid-century house in Portland (want to live there someday),
furnished with all things Eames, etc. & a jetted master tub
Disclaimer: I do not live a life of "if only." What a waste that would be.
Today, right now, I am the richest, albeit blimpiest girl in the world!
Tried to get some pics of Wilder kissing the belly but no dice.
He's wriggling free from me and my stretch marks...
She sent me a sunny smile, and what a smile, Georg;
it was a smile that could have melted the whole world,
because if the whole world had seen it,
it would have had the power to stop
all wars and hatred on the face of the planet,
or at least there would have been some long ceasefires.excerpt from Jostein Gaarder's The Orange GirlThis is obviously about a love interest. I think it is just beautifully written. I'm making it about Wilder, though; his smile has the power to do the same thing.
Or how about Freddie, the pug down the street? Quite a strapping fellow--look at that smile.
We pored over Wilder's birth/newborn pictures last night. What a story they tell. What a beautiful boy.
I am even more excited now! And a little nervous, too...kinda forgot about all that not-so-fun medical stuff...I'll deal. I'll deal. If I did it once I can do it again.Ok, pep talk over.
I am pretty scroungy most of the time-minimal makeup and whatever maternity jeans I can find that are clean. So when I dressed up a little for a night out with the girls, I had Shawn get a picture of me at 36 weeks.
I'm really ready to go and am so curious if we'll follow "statistics for second babies" and go a little early (I'm due May 28th). Of course every pregnant lady wants to go early, and I'm mentally prepared to go past my due date like I did with Wilder.Still it's nice to hope.My weekly visits start next week. I like going that often because it means we are very close. I also have a friend watching Wilder so I have a little time to go to the appointment and just relax. The most discomforting things at this point are heartburn, difficulty breathing (scary), some ankle/foot swelling, pelvic pressure, and lack of sleep. It's also really hard to bend down/over and to get around in general. Botanica was probably our last big outing; it wore me out.On a happier note, we're so excited to learn the gender and memorize this sweet baby's face. Wilder has seen the new crib and car seat and I'm sure he keeps wondering where the baby is who will fill each. He's going to be so proud!Hallelujah for a concern-free, normal pregnancy! Almost done!
