Would you care for a bowl of ice cream soup?

JUST looking for a little bit of consolation here. I haven't been myself lately. Well, I take that back. I've been myself, only a hare nuttier--yes, it's possible.

Some examples: after enjoying some "cookies and cream" ice cream last night, I placed the huge, 3/4-full bucket of ice cream ON TOP of the fridge--not in it, but on it. When I went into the kitchen this morning, I saw the bucket of melted goop ON TOP of the fridge and nearly wept, instantly thinking of what I would do to nurse my sweets addiction (pillsbury cookie dough is 2 for $5 right now, thankfully, so I'm in the clear). And, somewhere in between the checkout at Lowe's and my car, I lost the box of fireplace hooks (for stockings). I mean, we looked everywhere--under the car, back at the checkout, in our pants! So, we won't be hanging stockings this year (and also because the red fabrics clash which is an issue for my graphic designer husband). I guess this is ok since Wilder won't really need Santa's assistance with all the doting he receives from his grandparents.

So, I was wondering if I'm the only one on this planet who goes into the grocery store with the sole mission of purchasing milk only to leave it on the bottom rack of the cart (yes, this has happened), or if I'm the only one who spends hours searching for my sunglasses only to look in the mirror and see they're on my head.

Someone rescue me from this plight.

And, please just smile nicely when you realize I mislabeled your Christmas present.

You are not alone! The other day I walked (with all three boys) from Old Navy to the exit at Sears (at Towne East) before I realized I didn't pay for the one item I picked up! I have left Target with laundry detergent, unpaid for, on the bottom of my cart. And, I know I got my tree skirt out this year - but can't find it anywhere!! Welcome to "mommy brain"!! :)

Even somewhat young (?) grandmas do goofy things. Like the other day I was talking to Andrea on the phone, trying to leave the house to get on the road somewhere and while I talked, I hurried around in circles, searching everywhere, stopping occassionally to look again in my purse for my cell phone, so I would be sure to have it while on the road - but I could not find it and spent quite a while talking and frantically looking for it......of course it was at my ear, but it took much searching for me to find it there and when I did discover it against my cheek I felt really foolish, but didn't tell Andrea... HA HA! So I would agree....you are not alone!
